A TOTAL of 20 deaths have been recorded across Hampshire in a 24-hour period.

Figures published by NHS England today (January 20) have revealed that a further 20 coronavirus patients have died in 24 hours.

This brings the county's overall total up to 1,298 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March.

A further 13 deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust in the last 24 hours, bringing the Trust's total up to 618.

At University Hospital Southampton, there were three new deaths recorded bringing to total to 325 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Four deaths was recorded at Southern Health Trust, bringing to total to 37. 

No more deaths were recorded at the county's other Trusts. 

At Hampshire Hospitals Trust there has been a total of 313 deaths, and at Solent NHS Trust there has been five deaths.
