A SOUTHAMPTON man who was caught with a sword and dagger has avoided jail.
Ted Daniel Johnson was found him in possession of a sword, dagger and extendable baton on January 6 last year.
The 30-year-old had been stopped on the B6318 near Corbridge in Northumberland and found to be over the drink driving limit.
Johnson, of Iris Road, was convicted of drink driving and three counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
On Tuesday, he was committed to prison for three months, suspended for 12 months.
He has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £748 in costs and fines.
