THREE men who travelled to the New Forest via Dorset from the Isle of Wight to look at a second-hand car have been issued with fines for breaching coronavirus regulations.
Officers conducted a routine stop of a vehicle at 11.55am on Thursday, January 21, in the village of Ower.
This came after officers spotted three men in the same vehicle.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said officers spoke with the owner of the stopped vehicle and it transpired that they had travelled from the Isle of Wight to view a second-hand car.
The three men, a 23-year-old from East Cowes, a 22-year-old from East Cowes and an 18-year-old from Wootton were all issued with fixed penalty notices.
"Our officers will continue to engage, explain and encourage the public around the current Health Protection Regulations," said the police spokesman. "We will take enforcement action where blatant breaches of the legislation are observed."
