A NEW Forest woman died in hospital after a bout of vomiting, an inquest opening heard.
Dawn Angela Brown was admitted to Southampton General Hospital on July 13, last year, having been unwell for 10 days with a history of vomiting and decreasing food and drink intake.
The 64-year-old, of Keats Avenue, Milford on Sea, died 10 days later on July 23.
An inquest has now been opened into her death by area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp at Winchester Coroner’s Court.
In a post mortem report, consultant pathologist Dr Vipal Foria said that Ms Brown died of peritonitis, sigmoid colon stricture, metastatic breast cancer and morbid obesity.
Mrs Rhodes-Kemp adjourned the hearing, and a full inquest will take place on November 2.
