A FURTHER 16 more patients with coronavirus have died in hospitals across Hampshire, according to the latest NHS figures.

NHS England statistics published today (January 27) show that 16 more patients with coronavirus been recorded as having died in the last 24 hours.

This brings the county's hospital death toll up to 1,471.

A further seven deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust, bringing the Trust's total up to 698.

Six more deaths were recorded at University Hospital Southampton, bringing the total to 358 since the start of the pandemic.

A total of two deaths were recorded at Hampshire Hospitals Trust, bringing the total up to 354.

One death was recorded at Southern Heath NHS Trust, bringing the total to 43.

No more deaths were recorded at the county's other Trusts.

Solent NHS Trust has recorded eight deaths since the start of the pandemic.
