MORE than 700 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire in the past 24 hours.
Public Health England figures - as recorded on the Government website at 4.20pm today (January 27) - show that 741 more people have tested positive for the virus in a 24 hour period.
Yesterday, there were 489 new cases recorded across Hampshire.
Across the county, there has been a total of 76,893 positive tests since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 - approximately 5.58 per cent of the county's population.
Below are the confirmed cases by local authority on January 27:
- Basingstoke and Deane: 61 (6,935 in total since start of pandemic)
- East Hampshire: 30 (4,125)
- Eastleigh: 51 (4,602)
- Fareham: 29 (4,275)
- Gosport: 43 (3,079)
- Hart: 17 (3,739)
- Havant: 49 (6,101)
- New Forest: 45 (5,112)
- Portsmouth: 141 (12,051)
- Rushmoor: 49 (6,817)
- Southampton: 136 (11,549)
- Test Valley: 59 (4,276)
- Winchester: 31 (4,232)
