POLICE arrested a schoolboy in Winchester after he verbally abused officers.
At around 5.05pm yesterday (Tuesday) patrolling officers stopped two boys, aged 14 and 15, for a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act on Romsey Road.
When the 14-year-old became abusive and swearing in the street, he was arrested on suspicion of public order offences, said a spokesperson today.
The boy was de-arrested and taken home to his parents, but will be interviewed voluntarily at a later date. The boy has not been named.
A WinchesterCops tweet said: "Officers today detained two youths for a drugs search in Romsey Road. One male took a dislike to this and became extremely abusive to officers. He was arrested for Public Order offences as this behaviour will not be tolerated."
