Sports car hits flood water on rural road before striking tree and flipping onto roof
THE driver of a sports car that hit flood water crashed into a tree before flipping onto its roof.
Emergency services were called to a part of the A30 near Winchester today following an accident, in which the convertible soft-top was wrecked.
Stockbridge Road is closed in both directions following the accident.
Hampshire Road Police said that the driver had a "lucky escape" following the accident.
In a Tweet they said: "Rural flooding is a fact of life during the winter.
"It's the driver who is responsible for being able to stop in the distance they can see to be clear.
"This driver on the A30 didn't heed the clear signage & had a lucky escape after taking avoiding action."
