A MAN was threatened with a knife after confronting two people thought to be stealing from a delivery van.

CCTV images have now been released following the theft from a van in Southampton

Officers are keen to speak to a man and woman in connection with a theft from a delivery van in Southampton.

Sometime between 3.15pm and 3.45pm on January 4, a man and a woman were seen stealing parcels from a delivery van on Butts Road, Sholing.

A 33-year-old man challenged the pair and after a short chase the man threatened him with a knife.  

The man and woman then ran off.

Police have since released CCTV stills of a man and a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: “Can you help us identify these people?

"Officers are keen to speak to them in connection with a theft from a delivery van in Southampton.

"We have released these CCTV images of a man and a woman we would like to speak to in connection with this incident.   

“Do you recognise them? Perhaps you saw what happened and haven’t spoken to us yet?

“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, quoting 44210003646.
