A MAN who was pulled from the water after falling from the Itchen Bridge has died.
The man was pulled from the River Itchen shortly after 5pm last night following sightings from members of the public.
He was picked up by the helicopter and airlifted to a waiting ambulance in Lordshill, where he was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.
He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are now working to identify the man, thought to be in his 50s and from the Portswood area of Southampton. They say he left a bag with belongings on the bridge which has been recovered.
