CHEESECAKES over Covid!

A company specialising in these delightful home baked goodies has been born out of the pandemic and is going from strength to strength as cheesecake lovers snap them up for lockdown birthdays and special treats.

New Forest Cheesecakes, based in Romsey, began trading last July and is proving a big hit already.

Owner Zoe Morris explained: "I set up after I was made redundant from my previous job working in an airport doing security due to coronavirus and I decided on something totally different to what I’ve done before.

Daily Echo:

"It was my mum's idea as she has a great passion for baking and often took treats in to work for colleagues. The cheesecakes were always the biggest hit and she decided to pass her recipe on to me and that’s where New Forest Cheesecakes began."

New Forest Cheesecakes began getting orders immediately and Zoe has recently started selling at the weekly market at the Old Farmhouse, Totton. On her first visit, 200 cakes sold out within the hour.

"The business has gone from strength to strength," Zoe added. "In the first week of trading, a customer ordered a box of the mini taster cheesecakes and three days later contacted us to ask if we could cater for her wedding in September 2021, supplying cheesecakes as an alternative to a wedding cake. Since then we have been booked in for all kinds of celebrations."

Daily Echo:

They also supply a number of local cafes and are hoping to expand once lockdown is eased.

A long list of flavours including Millionaire Shortbread, Eton Mess, Nutella, Lemon and Bailey's Salted Caramel are made fresh daily.

The cakes are delivered free of charge and contact free to your door in the new company car, which is sign written with the New Forest Cheesecakes logo and colours.

"It’s very eye catching and I often have people chatting to me when it’s parked up, asking if I have any samples in the back to offer!

"We’ve gained a good reputation and offer top quality products at great prices. We are always pushing ourselves to create fantastic products at great prices.

We’ve had some fantastic reviews from our customers and that makes all the long hours in the kitchen worthwhile.

"Although it has been tough, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of setting up something totally different and I never expected it to be where it is today in such a short period of time."
