Man sent victim threatening and abusive messages during two months of stalking
A MAN who stalked a woman and sent her threatening messages has been handed a restraining order.
Michael David John Whitford stalked his victim between July 27 and September 7 last year.
The court heard how the 29-year-old sent multiple abusive and threatening messages to the woman via various different digital platforms in this time.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of stalking.
Whitford, of Baddesley Road, Chandler's Ford, was handed a restraining order banning directly or indirectly contacting his victim and was ordered to carry out 00 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.
