BURGLARS have snatched three valuable diamonds from a house in Winchester.

Detectives have appealed for help from the public after the theft of three diamonds, estimated value £7,000, from a house in Rewlands Drive, Harestock.

The raider is thought to have broken into the house through a rear ground floor window sometime between 9am-7pm Thursday, December 13.

They searched an upstairs bedroom, and the burglar left with a pair of earrings and a diamond pendant necklace.

PC Elaine Cawkill, of Winchester Police, appealed for information from anyone who heard or saw unfamiliar people or vehicles in the area on Thursday.

"We are especially interested in any unusual sightings at about 6pm Thursday, when neighbours reported a dog barking," said PC Cawkill.

Laptop stolen A BURGLAR stole a laptop valued at £500 from a property in Glenwood Avenue, Bassett, Southampton.

The theft happened sometime between last Tuesday and last Thursday. Anyone with information should call police on 023 8059 9997.
