A HANDFUL of fuel protestors gathered at a Hampshire oil refinery this morning to demonstrate against the rising cost of fuel.
But despite being billed as a major protest expected to disrupt fuel tankers leaving Fawley Oil Refinery and bring carnage to the county's forecourts, only around 15 protestors turned up.
Around ten police officers were at the protest, which took place opposite the entrance to Esso's Hythe terminal.
A lone protestor attempted to block the entry road with his Landrover but was quickly moved on by police.
Protest organiser Chris Hunter said: "I am disappointed by the number of people who turned up but we have still got our message across."
