A WOMAN was hurt in a struggle when a man burst into her Hampshire home.

Police say the 34-year-old was injured during the incident in Leah Gardens, in Eastleigh.

It happened when a man knocked on the woman's door and then forced his way inside the property.

Officers have said that while inside the house there was a struggle and the woman suffered an injury to her wrist.

The man was then seen to flee the home.

Hampshire Police have now launched an investigation into the incident which took place at around 2.15pm on Monday.

They have described it as an aggravated burglary.

As part of the investigation officers have been carrying out house to house inquiries in the area.

Police have revealed that a 31-year-old man from Southsea and a 49-year-old man from Portsmouth have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

They were both released on conditional bail until March 9 pending further police inquiries.
