POLICE have seized an E-Scooter from a boy after he was seen riding 'recklessly' on a footpath.
Romsey Neighbourhood Policing Team seized the E-Scooter under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act (1998) on Botley Road, North Baddesley.
A 14-year-old boy was riding the scooter on the footpath and was reported to have been riding in a '"reckless manner".
A post on the 'Test Valley Cops' Facebook page said: "Romsey Neighbourhood Policing Team have today seized an E-Scooter under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act (1998) on Botley Road, North Baddesley.
"A 14 year old was utilising the scooter on the footpath in a reckless manner.
"The only place an E-Scooter can be used is on Private Land with the permission of the land owner.
"An E-Scooter is classed as a Personal Light Electric Vehicle (PLEV). They are treated as motor vehicles and as such are subject to the same legal requirements. MOT, Tax, Licensing and Insurance."
