POLICE have today named the man who died after falling from the Itchen Bridge.
David Francis Sheldrake, from Burgess Road in Southampton was pulled from the water at around 5pm on Friday following sightings from members of the public.
The 52-year-old was picked up by helicopter and airlifted to a waiting ambulance in Lordshill, where he was rushed to Southampton General Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
A Post Mortem is due to take place on Tuesday.
