A SEARCH has been launched after an empty car was found submerged in a lake.
Police and fire crews were called at 8.45am this morning after reports that a vehicle had entered the water in Telegraph Woods, West End.
The vehicle, a silver Ford Fiesta, was recovered after a joint operation by Hampshire Police Marine Unit and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
No one was said to be in the vehicle.
A joint search is now underway to ensure that there are no bodies in the water.
Firefighters from Hightown, Fareham, Hythe and Redbridge were on the scene from 08:59 until 10:57 this morning.
