DISCOUNT supermarket chain Lidl is planning to expand across the country - with developers planning 13 new stores across Hampshire.
At the time of being published, the latest site requirements brochure lists more than 1,000 locations across Great Britain where the retailer wants to build a new shop or relocate an existing store.
Lidl has a target of having 1,000 stores across England, Wales and Scotland by the end of 2023.
A year ago the firm was well on the way to achieving this as it crossed the 800-store mark.
In Hampshire, the German chain already has many stores and it wants to expand on this.

SOUTHAMPTON
The chain already has four stores in Southampton, on the High Street, Banister Road, Woolston, and Shirley.
But Lidl bosses still want to add more.
The locations where Lidl wants to add to its operation in Southampton are in Bassett, Bitterne and Portswood.
It also wants to relocate the current store in Townhill Park.
REST OF HAMPSHIRE
Lidl currently has a number of stores in Hampshire, including Hedge End, Eastleigh, Totton, Hythe, and Fareham.
However, many sites have been earmarked for potential new stores.
Bosses are hoping to add a store in Hedge End, Chandler's Ford, Romsey and two in Winchester (Easton Lane and Badger's Farm).
Elsewhere in Hampshire, a store is planned for Lymington in the New Forest and a relocation is planned for the store in Andover.
Lidl has also said they plan to open two stores in Fareham, including one in Segensworth.
Plans for Portsmouth include one store in Farlington and one in the centre of the city.
There are also plans to relocate the store in Forton in Gosport.
The Daily Echo has contacted Lidl for more information.
