A NEW campaign has been launched which has already helped thousands of people through lockdown.
The ‘Love Gosport’ campaign has been set up by St John’s Church in Forton Road to help residents with essentials, such as food shopping, during the coronavirus lockdown.
As part of the initiative, the new vicar Rev. Ray Driscoll has been serving hot meals twice a week to 60 people as well as delivering 300 free care packages to people in the borough.
Resident Robyn O’Keefe said: “I was feeling isolated and alone, under pressure with a young family so when Rev Ray appeared at my door with the first meal it made real difference. I volunteered to help cook the meals and it’s changed mine and my children’s lives.”
