AN AREA of Southampton still has a Covid infection rate of more than one in 200 people - almost double the city's second highest.
Newtown and Nicholstown, which covers much of the Bevois ward area's southern half, recorded 65 new cases in the seven days to February 11, according to the latest data from Public Health England.
This was a rise of 38.3% on the previous week's cases, leaving the area with an infection rate of 532 per 100,000 people, or one in 188.

The area with the second highest rate in the city is Sholing East.
According to Public Health England, the district saw 19 new cases in the week to February 11 - a rise of 46.2%.
This leaves the area with an infection rate of 259 per 100,000 people, or one in 386.

As reported, eight areas of the city were recorded as having Covid infection rates of less than 100 per 100,000 people - which equates to around one in a thousand.
