A MAN who assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest has been fined
Matthew Anthony Coleman assaulted an officer by beating while he was being detained in Gosport on September 27 last year, a court heard.
The 43-year-old also resisted a second officer, magistrates were told.
Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, Coleman pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency worker by beating and one count of resisting a police officer.
Coleman, whose address was given as of White Lion Walk, Gosport, was fined a total of £260.
He was also ordered to pay £125 compensation.
The defendant was further told to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.
