A HOUSEHOLDER could be forced to remove a boundary fence that was built without planning permission.
New Forest District Council (NFDC) has refused to approve a retrospective application relating to a property at Barrs Wood Road in New Milton.
New Milton Town Council had urged the authority to reject the application.
In a letter to the authority it said: "The (planning) committee stated that this retrospective application should not be permitted and enforcement action should be robust. The committee expects full support from NFDC on this matter."
The application was rejected on the grounds that the size and design of the fence gave it a stark appearance.
However, the applicant could decide to lodge an appeal.
