A GROUP of youths have been seen "interfering" with city buses in Southampton.

Police were called to Lordshill Way at 6.38pm last night following reports of a group interfering with buses.

It was reported that the group of three or four young people were opening the engine flaps around the back of the buses.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "We were called at 6.38pm yesterday, Thursday, 18 February to a report of three-four young people interfering with buses in Lords Hill Way.

"They were reportedly opening the engine flaps around the back of the buses.

"If anyone has any information or thinks they may know someone who was involved, please call 101 quoting 44210008050 or alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

It comes after a spate of attacks on buses in and around the Millbrook, Lordswood and Coxford areas of the city.

Bluestar was forced to seek police assistance after its number 18 vehicles were targeted by “several youths, who were armed with stones" at the start of January.

In February, the back window of a City Red bus was shattered at around 4.30pm.

The City Red 2 bus had been travelling along Kendal Avenue at the time.
