A woman was rushed to hospital last night after falling from a bridge over railway tracks at Eastleigh Station.
Police responded at 5.06pm yesterday evening (February 22) to reports of concern for welfare by Bishopstoke Bridge.
A woman had fallen from the bridge and had sustained serious leg injuries.
South Central Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, the Hazardous Area Response Team and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight critical care car to the incident.
The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Southampton in a serious but stable condition.
Her injuries are described as "not life-threatening."
Roads either side of Bishopstoke Bridge were shut for a short period and the train lines between Basingstoke and Southampton blocked while officers carried out their investigation.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We would like to thank the public for their patience while we dealt with the incident and the support from South Central Ambulance Service and Network Rail staff."
