I DON'T know what to make of your article on non serious visits to A & E (Echo 20th Feb) as it is not clear whether these figures include visits to minor injuries.

If people cannot get through to 111 and cannot see their doctor when they feel unwell and are worried concerned about themselves, what are they to do if they are anxious?

How do they know it's not serious until they've been seen and reassured?

These visits do not cost UHS £2.3 million.

The staff in the units are a fixed cost whether thousands turn up or no one turns up.

One thing is certain. In the scale of the NHS budget, this cost is nothing compared to the money NHS spends on failed computer systems or admin.

The NHS needs no lessons from us when it comes to wasting money.
