Wow, where to start with the letter from Chris Newman, he still can’t hide his dislike for our Prime Minister or his inability to except the Referendum result.

Firstly, the Scottish independence vote was, in their own words, a once in a lifetime vote.

Just like remainer’s, the SNP want a vote until they get what they want, which in my view will never happen, any Scots that I talk to north of the boarder think Sturgeon has become a liability to Scotland, hopefully for not much longer.

As you are Labour through and through, you may regret it if they ever did get independence, at the moment a very average Tory party have an 80 seat majority.

Take away all Scottish MP’s of all parties and the Tory’s would have an overall majority of 127, the chances of the present Labour Party ever-getting a majority is very slim.

I’m not sure if hindsight is only for Labour supporters/MP’s, Sir Keir Starmer being a classic example of someone who would have done things differently, albeit after the event, it seems everyone has become a Dr Google since the start of the pandemic.

You can pick 10 qualified experts in any given medical science field and get many different views and opinions.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Government took stick from the opposition so called experts after saying they would leave second vaccinations for 12 weeks.

It is now recognised to have been the right decision.

Sadly, in this country far too many people have died from the virus. Compare our population per square kilometre (275) to the average in the EU (117) may give some indication why it has spread amongst us more than some places.

Added to this the way in which we lump together the deaths. It is well documented that some deaths in care homes have been put down as probable cause Covid. I’m not excusing the deaths, but overall the medical experts advising the Government have done the best they can with the information available to them at the time.

One area that I believe needs a complete overall is PHE, I would like to see senior military people put into these areas, they practice every day for emergencies and know what needs to be done, it was quite clear that PHE was not prepared for this type of emergency and is not fit for purpose.

Many diehard remainer’s would like Brexit to fail, just so they could say “I told you so” I have never doubted we will make a success of Brexit, there will be many a bumpy ride along the way, but in time others will join us.

Finally, I think the media coverage of this pandemic has been disgraceful, the constant barrage of negativity from them all will have caused severe mental health problems for many people for years to come.

Stay safe everyone.
