A FATHER had to deliver his own baby at his Hampshire home this morning when his wife suddenly went into labour.
The new arrival was born before ambulance crews could reach the caravan park in Warsash in the early hours of today.
The couple dialled 999 for help just after 3.20am and the father had to take directions on how to care for his wife and safely deliver the baby over the phone from control room staff.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service, which covers Hampshire, said the child had been delivered safely and the mother and baby were now both well.
