Well done Alun Newman for your illuminating and touching but light-hearted chat on Wednesday morning with Tina Snow, from the Isle of Wight on Radio Solent.

Tina has been totally blind from birth (as a premature baby she was given too much oxygen) and her one bugbear is the 97% of visually impaired people who have some, albeit limited vision, being called blind.

Who can blame her?

I can't remember, ever, hearing the perspective of someone with her specific limitations - never having grasped the idea of the look of things.

They certainly make our temporary niggling Covid-related tribulations look minor in comparison. Rightly so.

It's worth seeking out on iPlayer if you missed it. (Circa 0915 hrs).
