THE Rottweiler that attacked a kennel worker maid was picked up in North Poulner Road in Ringwood, it can be revealed.

The 10-stone dog was found by a member of the public in the early hours of November 12, New Forest District Council told the Daily Echo.

The dog, Diesel, went on to attack Mandy Peynado at Knightwood Kennels at West Grimstead, near Salisbury.

It bit her more than 100 times and she lost her left arm, but she has vowed to carry on working with dogs.

Environmental health officers are investigating.

Miss Peynado, 47, is out of intensive care and surgeons said her right arm has been saved.

Kennel owner Judith Wykeham said: "It could take years for her to recover as her injuries are absolutely horrendous. It looks like she has been attacked by a tiger."

The council said the dog had no collar but was micro-chipped. The person living at the address the chip led them to "knew nothing" about the dog.

The spokesman said: "The dog remained the responsibility of NFDC for the statutory seven-day period that it was at the kennels, during which time investigations to trace the current owner were unsuccessful.

"After that time, it became the responsibility of the kennels. It is understood that up to the day of the attack the dog had not shown any signs of aggressive tendencies."
