SOUTHAMPTON’S Labour Council are hell bent on wasting tens of millions of pounds on anti motorist and unnecessary road changes.

Taking out two lanes on Millbrook Road, making them for buses only, will result in huge traffic jams and worsen air quality.

Labour plans for the city centre will mean pretty much all traffic coming into town and crossing the city is going to be forced around Charlotte Place roundabout, unless people coming from the east pay to go over the Itchen Bridge.

And combined with cutting traffic lanes on the main east and west routes into the city, this going to be a nightmare.

People needing to get around Southampton for work are going to really struggle and its a hammer blow to West Quay and the city’s retail which is extremely fragile at the moment.

This isn’t just about damage to the big shops or even smaller retailers. Think if you are say a landscape gardener with a van that needs to travel east-west daily - what will this do to your livelihood?

Meanwhile Labour are now putting up council tax by another 5%.

It’s time for a change this May, time to stop the dreadful waste of public money and time to Get Southampton Moving.
