MORE than 110 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Hampshire over the 24 hours.

Public Health England figures - as recorded on the government's website - show that, as of 4pm today, 113 more people have tested positive for the virus.

Yesterday, 117 new cases were recorded.

The figures released today bring the county's total to 88,258 cases since the start of the pandemic - around 6.41 per cent of the county's population.

Below are the confirmed cases by local authority in the 24 hours up to March 2:

  • Basingstoke and Deane: 10 (7,850) in total since start of pandemic)
  • East Hampshire: 7 (4,710)
  • Eastleigh: 9 (5,482)
  • Fareham: 4 (5,028)
  • Gosport: 1 (3,702)
  • Hart: 8 (4,156)
  • Havant: 16 (6,819)
  • New Forest: 7 (5,917)
  • Portsmouth: 12 (13,750)
  • Rushmoor: 10 (7,577)
  • Southampton: 22 (13,611)
  • Test Valley: 3 (5,1119)
  • Winchester: 4 (4,737)
