THIEVES have stolen a digger after raiding a Southampton building site.
Police were called to a site on Adelaide Road this morning after a digger was reported stolen.
Described as a 1.8 tonnes and with white, light grey and dark grey colouring it is believed to have been taken between 5.30pm last night and 7am today.
Police are now appealing for information to help trace it.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating after we were called at 8.01am today to a report of a theft of a digger.
"Sometime between 5.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, 3 March) and 7am this morning (Thursday, 4 March) a digger was stolen from a building site on Adelaide Road, Southampton.
"Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or has any private CCTV or information that may assist our investigation should contact us on 101 quoting 44210080887 or alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
