A MAN has been arrested after parcels containing cannabis worth thousands were posted at a Hampshire post office.

On September 22 last year, four parcels containing around £4,500 worth of cannabis were posted at a post office on St Vigor Way, Colden Common.

Staff alerted police and on Tuesday an 18-year-old man from Bishopstoke was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

A police spokesperson said: "We know that a lot people will think it’s just a bit of cannabis - but we want to stress that any production or supply of drugs is linked to hidden harm, including organised crime groups and serious violence.

"It is not just a bit of cannabis, it’s linked to serious criminality. That’s why we are really keen to hear from people who suspect there is drug related activity going on their neighbourhood."
