AN ELDERLY lady with a history of falling died following an incident.
Madeline Brenda Joyce Barclay, 88, was a resident at Fleming House Nursing Home in Eastleigh.
On February 9 she suffered a fall and was taken to hospital – then was discharged back to her home.
Just six days later, Ms Barclay was pronounced dead.
Pathologist Dr Hayley Burnley has stated the preliminary cause of death as a pulmonary embolism, with pneumonia contributing.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp, who held an inquest opening, has adjourned the full hearing to November 18.
This will be heard in Winchester.
