GRAVESTONES at a Hampshire cemetery have been defaced.
Police have ramped up patrols this morning after several gravestones were damaged at Ann's Hill Road cemetery in Gosport.
There have also been reports of vehicles targeted in the surrounding area.
Officers will be carrying out enquiries into what happened throughout the day.
A post on the Gosport Police Facebook said: " Gosport Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out enquiries in relation to a series of Criminal Damage incidents in and around the Cemetery on Ann's Hill Road this morning.
"We are aware that several gravestones in the cemetery have been defaced and a number of vehicles in the surrounding area have also been damaged.
"If anyone has any information that may assist in the investigation of these crimes officers will be in the area this morning to talk too. Alternatively, you can report the incidents online or via 101."
