AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman has been left with injured ribs and concussion following an attack outside a Southampton library.
A woman was assaulted by another woman in the car park near Lordshill Library in Upper Brownhill Way.
According to police, a man intervened and stopped the incident which happened shortly before 5pm on Friday.
A 20-year-old woman from Southampton and who is believed to be known by the victim was arrested on suspicion of GBH but has since been released on bail.
Police have now launched a witness appeal to help establish what happened.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating an assault on a woman in Lordshill are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak with a man who intervened.
"The incident happened just before 5pm on Friday 5 March, in the car park by Lordshill library, in Upper Brownhill Road.
"An 18-year-old woman was assaulted by a woman believed to be known to her, leaving her with injuries to her ribs and concussion."
