"The discovery was made in an area of woodland in Ashford, Kent."

"As you can imagine, at this early stage we are not able to confirm any identity and indeed this may take us some time."

Police were also seen today searching a property in Deal, Kent.

A 48-year-old man, a serving Metropolitan police officer, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of kidnap, and then again on Wednesday on suspicion of murder and a separate allegation of indecent exposure.
