A LARGE police presence remains in a Southampton residential street following an alleged kidnapping involving a handgun and machete.
Around six police vehicles are parked in St Andrews Road as part of a kidnap investigation.
Officers were originally called to an address in St Mary's ward of the city after receiving reports of an aggravated burglary.
A man is said to have been forced into a vehicle before it fled the scene.
Officers later found a cannabis factory with between 100 and 150 plants.
A police tent was put up behind the property and police have been carrying out enquiries in the area since Friday.
Police have since charged five men with kidnap.
Armando Topalli, 27, of John Thornycroft Road, Southampton has been charged with kidnap and possession of a firearm with intent.
Aranit Topalli, 27, of St Andrews Road, Southampton has been charged with kidnap and producing Class B drugs.
Meanwhile, Brixiado Halilaj, 20, of Portland Street, Southampton and Zef Gjoka, 29, of Nightingale Road, Southampton and Spartak Demiraj, 30, of Brittania Road in Southend on Sea have each been charged with kidnap.
During a hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, the court heard how the incident involved weapons including a handgun, metal bars and a machete.

A police spokesperson said: "We continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at around the time of the incident or has any information that may assist our investigation to call us on 101 quoting 44210092064.
