PLANS to enlarge a bungalow in the New Forest National Park have been withdrawn by the applicant.

The Lymington-based National Park Authority (NPA) is no longer studying an application relating to a property at Lakewood Road, Ashurst.

A couple living next door feared the proposed extension would block light to their garden.

In a letter to the NPA they said: "We are not opposing the development but would like the overall approved design to be mindful of our light and privacy concerns."

The planning application said the extension "will provide additional living space, giving room for a dining table in the lounge area and enlarging the small bedroom into a functional double bedroom.

"The extension will only enlarge existing rooms and access will remain as currently configured.

"The height of proposed roof will be of the same level as the existing build.

The design of the extension is of a high quality and in keeping with the style of the existing house."
