REMEMBER the name – because Louis Blomberg is taking his football career to the next step.

The Peter Symonds college student has signed for Campbellsville University in the USA, having earned himself a full soccer scholarship.

He will be at the top flight NAIA D1 University, whose team play in the Mid-South Conference.

Lewis is currently signed for Winchester City Under 18s alongside playing for the college.

His past has seen him play for Totton whilst aged 15 as well as spending five years at the Eastleigh Academy up to the age of 16.

When younger he played in the Tyro League and the Junior Premier League for Oakwood Youth, based at Test Park, Southampton.

Louis said: "Football has been a fantastic journey for me so far and my time at college, along with the teams and coaches I have played for here in the UK, has given me friends for life and the tools I needed to get this opportunity for the next chapter, which I can’t thank them all enough for. All the hard work has paid off."

The final year student has been recruited after impressing US university coaches during trials and showcase games in London last summer.

Campbellsville have been conference champions two times in the past five years and compete in the most competitive National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics conference in the USA.

On track for good final grades this year, which is an important aspect of the US soccer recruitment process, Louis is going on to study for a degree in business while in Kentucky.

His conference soccer and competitions will see him travel to all corners of the USA over the next four years.
