PATROLS have been taking place in multiple villages after a spate of burglaries and thefts.
Over the last few weeks there has been a rise in thefts from vehicles and burglaries across Colden Common, Twyford, Brambridge and Shawford according to police.
In response, there has been an increased police presence in the areas and this weekend with officers patrolling in unmarked cars.
Residents have now been asked to take precautions to avoid falling victim to a theft or burglary and are being asked to come forward if they have any information on the recent rise.
A police spokesperson said: "Remember to remove any valuables from vehicles and to lock your vehicle.
"Keep all sheds and garages locked and try and secure more expensive items to an anchor point within the building.
"We would also like to ask you to remain vigilant and if you do see a crime in progress or something suspicious please report it via 101 or 999 if it’s an emergency."
