A FINAL decision  on controversial plans to expand the runway at Southampton Airport is expected to be made tomorrow.

As reported, the proposals to extend the runway by 164m sparked a heated debate among residents, businesses and local councils.

The plans were first unveiled in 2019 and there have been four public consultations since.

The planning meeting will take place at 10am tomorrow.

Several councils and organisations across Hampshire were also asked to comment on the scheme and state whether they were in favour of the plans or if they had objections to raise.
