BOROUGH chiefs are due to discuss and set out their plan for future development.

Eastleigh Borough Council is heading towards the adoption of its local plan.

The plan sets out the policies to guide future development within the Borough and is being considered at a Cabinet meeting today.

The policies in the Plan are a principal way in which the Council shapes and plans for the places where people live, work and visit.

Council Leader, Cllr Keith House said: “The Council will be able to adopt the Local Plan later this year but can already give the Plan real weight in decision-making.

"This gives maximum protection to countryside sites around the Borough and the green lungs between our communities”.

After the Cabinet meeting and subject to approval by full council on May 27, a further public consultation will begin in June and July.
