The possible closure of Southampton Airport following the decision of the Eastleigh Local Area Committee begs the question as to the fixture use of what will be the largest brown field site in the area.
If a golf course is a green field site then so is an airport.
The current Eastleigh town will pale into insignificance when the airport is developed and if known as the Southampton Airport suburb, the future of Eastleigh borough itself will be at risk.
