A DRINK driver caught in Southampton has been banned from the road for two years.
Ciprian Tucaliuc, 21, was stopped by police officers in Brintons Road, St Mary's, on September 12 last year.
His alcohol reading was 91 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35, making him nearly three times the limit.
Tucaliuc, of Richmond Park Road, Springbourne, Bournemouth, admitted the allegation.
An arrest warrant which had been issued was withdrawn by the prosecution at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
Magistrates fined Tucaliuc £260, with a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The 24-month ban will be cut by 24 weeks if he passes an approved course by August 14 2022.
Tucaliuc also admitted driving with no insurance and was fined an extra £60.
