A NEW hotel is preparing to open its doors for the first time this May.

Village Hotel Club Southampton Eastleigh is now taking bookings as it prepares to open on May 1.

The 153-bedroom hotel on Bournemouth Road will include a range of facilities such as an indoor heated pool, a sauna, a steam room, a whirlpool and a gym.

From May 17, which marks the relaxation of regulations and the opening up of hospitality across the UK, the hotel will welcome overnight guests to its rooms with The Village Hotels app offering a complete, contact free stay.

Mike Horner, who has worked with Village Hotel Club for over 15 years, has joined the hotel as General Manager after previously managing Village Hotel Club Portsmouth.

He said: “I’m hugely excited about the opening, and look to welcoming the local community, whether that’s at the Health & Wellbeing Club, in VWorks or for a bite to eat.

"As the hospitality industry continues to suffer the impact of Covid-19, this latest Village opening is a vote of confidence in the sector as we look towards a happier future.

“Eastleigh is such a thriving town – and a gateway to the South coast – the team and I are thrilled to bring the Village offer to both locals and those further afield seeking a much-needed, weekend away enjoying the area’s fantastic leisure attractions.”

The Pub & Grill will also be opening as of May 17, offering all-day food as well as an onsite Starbucks which is set to open early for drink in or take away.

The opening of hotel follows the launch of Village Hotel Club in Basingstoke in February 2020 and is part of Village’s expansion programme across the South.
