A BANKSY-STYLE artwork has appeared on a wall at Winchester hospital to say thank you to NHS staff.

The work by local artist Hendog is was painted overnight at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. It shows a young child handing a bunch of flowers to an NHS keyworker.

A post on Hendog’s Instagram page said: “To all the NHS staff, thank you so much for everything you do. Where would our country be without you.”

It is the third mural from the artist who has been dubbed the Winchester Bansky which has popped up in the city over the last couple of months.

Their last piece was to raise social awareness at the Community Food Pantry at Unit 12 in Winnall, which showed a young child holding a sandwich representing food given to those in need at the pantry.

Pantry manager Elaine Chapman said that there was a rumour that the artist would paint the building, but she said "nobody knew if or when".

Banksy?

Banksy?

And in early March another artwork appeared on a wall near the Handlebar Café and showed a figure of a child holding the line of a kite, which leads up to a real rainbow kite caught in the nearby branches.
