A NEW Amazon Prime series starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas is rumoured to be filming in Hampshire.

The public have spotted lorries, cameras, lights and signs going up around Basing View, Basingstoke with clues suggesting it could be for new Amazon Prime series Citadel.

The cast were also thought to be filming nearby in Bourne Wood in Farnham, as well as in London and Surrey.

What actors will appear in the series?

Golden globe award winner Richard Madden, who gained acclaim for his appearance in BBC’s Bodyguard will star the show alongside Indian actress and singer Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Australian actress Ashleigh Cummings, Danish actor Roland Møller, and American actor Stanley Tucci will also appear in the new series.

Who is directing the series?

Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo, collectively known as the Russo brothers, are heading up the directing of the new Amazon show.

They are best known for directing four films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The brothers have also worked as directors and/or producers on the comedy series Arrested Development which won a Primetime Emmy Award.

The writing team for the show includes Mission Impossible writers Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner who wrote Venom, and Scott Rosenberg who scripted High Fidelity.

The “Bridgerton” casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry, who is also known for her work on Broadchurch and Gangs of London, is casting director for the new series.

What is the plot?

The new series is being described as “an action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional centre”.

The plot details of the series are being kept under wraps but it is reported to be an "epic global spy thriller" revolving around the word of espionage.

When is Citadel released on Amazon?

A release date has not yet been revealed.
