A hotel in Salisbury is preparing to reopen its restaurant outdoors with a new, tasty addition.

The Milford Hall Hotel & Spa on Castle Street has purchased an outdoor wood fired pizza oven, which it hopes will go down a treat.

It is just one of a number of venues in the city making the most of the lockdown closure period to invest in and revamp their outdoor areas.

The hotel's restaurant, called Milano Restaurant, will reopen on Friday (April 16).

It will be open Friday to Sunday between 12pm and 8pm.

Manager Stuart Earp said: "We have 20 outdoor spaces on our patio which has low seating because we also do stuff like afternoon teas and higher tables.

"Then we have a conservatory with heating and a retractable roof which can also sit 20."

Mr Earp said customers will enjoy a brand new, Italian-themed menu featuring fresh fish and meat.

To entice diners, they have launched a loyalty card system to allow customers to save 15 per cent on all food and drink.

As part of the easing of lockdown restriction, the hotel has also reopened to visitors who are now allowed to book overnight stays with people in their households.
